“Great experience. Thorough and offered numerous treatment options. Not the cheapest option but will do the job right.”
Most crawl space problems don't announce themselves until they show up somewhere else in the house. A Pure Air Charlotte inspection checks moisture levels, the vapor barrier, drainage, insulation, ductwork, and structural wood underneath your home — so you get photos and a plain-language recommendation before you spend a dollar on any repair.

“Great experience. Thorough and offered numerous treatment options. Not the cheapest option but will do the job right.”
“Daniel and his associate were very responsive to my daughters mold full apartment. The apartment complex was doing nothing to help. Daniel explained the process of the "bomb" and that it would completely kill all the mold spores. They were on time, very informative to the process and the amount of time it would take to complete. After wipping all of her personal belongings the mold was removed and she saved all of her items. If I could I would give this group 10 stars!!!”
“Jason came out on very short notice, did an inspection, and gave us a very detailed explanation as to what was going on with an attic leak. He found the problem right away and gave us instructions on how to move forward with getting it fixed. I highly recommend using them!”
“Brandon was extremely knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions about mold and was responsive whenever we reached out to him. His team did an excellent job removing all toxic mold that was in our basement, due to a leak. Additionally, he was thorough with making sure he answered additional questions we had after the service was provided and everything was good. Thank you! I would highly recommend Pure Air North Carolina. They know their stuff and will happily educate you about mold!”
“I love the way these guys work. They don't use a bunch of jargon, they break it down for you in the straightest and most simplest way. Easy to respond (I'm glad they respond by text messages, I really get annoyed at businesses that have you leave a message with the secretary's secretary's assist's intern only for them to reply to a question you didn't even ask 10 days later. Pure Air speaks to you directly and have quick message turn around times). All is well! I highly recommend.”
“Pure Air North Carolina did an incredible job remediating a small mold problem at our house. We had water damage and mold in one kitchen cabinet from condensation from our air conditioning unit. They were able to remove the moldy and water damaged material, clean the surrounding areas, and treat the air, all in one business day. They provided pre and post mold testing to confirm the effectiveness of their treatment, too. You won't find a mold remediation company that cares more about their customers' health and wellness. They offer payment plans for people who can't afford the remediation up front, because they want their customers to be able to live in a healthy, mold-free environment regardless of their finances. Please don't hesitate to give them a call and get a quote!”
A crawl space rarely announces a problem on its own. If any of these sound familiar, an inspection is the fastest way to find out what's actually happening underneath your home.
Mold showing up in a closet, bathroom, or other room is often traced back to moisture rising from an unsealed or damaged crawl space below.
A musty smell with no obvious source is one of the most common early signs of a crawl space moisture problem, and an easy thing to confirm with an inspection.
Wood floor joists and subfloor absorb moisture from a humid crawl space long before you can see or smell the damage — a moisture reading catches it earlier.
Standing water or consistently wet ground next to your home's foundation is a direct line into the crawl space — drainage is one of the first things we check.
Fatigue, headaches, or breathing issues that improve when you're away from home can point back to indoor air quality below your feet.
High humidity underneath the house is exactly the environment pests and bugs look for — and a way in to the rest of your home.
If a household member has tested positive for mold exposure or toxicity, an inspection of the crawl space is one of the first places to check.
A Pure Air Charlotte crawl space inspection is a full walkthrough, not a quick look through the access hatch. Your technician documents each of the following, so nothing gets missed.
No guesswork, and no pressure to book anything you don't need.
A full walkthrough underneath the home — moisture readings, the vapor barrier, standing water and drainage, insulation, ductwork, visible mold evidence, and structural wood.
Photos of anything we find, plus the moisture readings and notes behind them — so you can see exactly what's under your home, not just take our word for it.
A plain-language recommendation and pricing, if any work is needed — no obligation either way. If we find active moisture problems, encapsulation is the fix; if we find active mold, it's scoped in alongside our mold remediation treatment.
We didn't start as a crawl space company. We started as a mold remediation business — and inspections are how we make sure we're only recommending work a crawl space actually needs.
Having assisted countless families affected by mold-related illness — including personal experience on our own team — we deeply empathize with restoring health to a home and its homeowner.
We began as a mold remediation business and expanded into crawl space inspection and repair specifically because moisture control there is the single biggest lever on whole-home mold risk.
A Charlotte-based team that shows up and does the inspection itself, not a national franchise call center.
The inspection and the recommendation that follows are free. If your crawl space doesn't need work, we'll tell you that too.
Fully sealing the crawl space ground and walls to prevent humidity and moisture issues. In general this includes a high-quality vapor barrier on the ground, plastic sealed to the walls, a dehumidifier, and drainage with a sump pump.
Almost certainly you need something, yes. The Piedmont's humid season — July through November — brings a lot of humidity that's tough on crawl spaces. There are very few crawl spaces in the Charlotte region that don't require some level of moisture control. An inspection is how we find out exactly what yours needs.
It depends on the size and condition of the crawl space, but most inspections are a straightforward visit: we go underneath, check moisture, the vapor barrier, drainage, insulation, ductwork, and structural wood, take photos of anything we find, and walk you through it afterward.
When humidity is high, wood products — your subfloor and floor joists — absorb water from the air. As the moisture content in the wood increases, mold begins to grow.
No — this is commonly misunderstood, even by some crawl space contractors. At best, existing mold goes dormant; as soon as there's a new moisture event, it begins to grow again. If we find active mold during an inspection, we scope it in alongside our mold remediation treatment rather than treating the moisture alone.
It depends on your crawl space, but in general, high humidity for prolonged periods increases pests and bugs, raises the probability of damaged ductwork and insulation, and increases mold growth. Over time, depending on severity, this can also lead to foundation and structural issues from wood rot.
Most crawl spaces carry small, subtle issues for long periods that eventually compound into larger problems — often exacerbated by a season of extremely high humidity, extreme storms like hurricanes, or a water leak.
Yes. The inspection and the recommendation that follows it are free, with no obligation to book any further work.
99.9% of the time, some level of dehumidification is needed — it's very rare to see a crawl space in the Charlotte area that doesn't. And every crawl space needs some way for water to escape: in an extreme rain event or with high ground water, water that enters the crawl space needs an exit, either a sump pump or a daylight drain. Your inspection findings will tell you which, if either, yours needs.
The first step is a free, no-obligation crawl space inspection. It gives you moisture readings, photos of anything we find, and a plain-language recommendation — including Pure Air Charlotte availability and pricing, if work is needed.
A small, senior team — so we treat each crawl space like the only one we're working on this week. Currently accepting new clients across the greater Charlotte metro.
